Amherst Island Science School

Welcome to the Amherst Island Science School! Our programs provide a hands-on, outdoor SCIENCE experience for students in the Limestone District School Board. Programs run throughout the school year for grades K-8.

Participants explore the beautiful natural areas the island has to offer, such as the shoreline, meadow, or the Owl Woods, and will develop their INQUIRY SKILLS using scientific tools and procedures.

This year we are continuting to offer Science School Programs AT YOUR SCHOOL. Help your students gain a new appreciation of their surroundings and an understanding of the fact that science can be done anywhere. Also continuing this year is our GPS borrowing program. We have a set of 12 units available for loan around the board free of charge for one or two week periods. The units can be booked alone or with an introductory lesson at your school. For more information or to book the units just click on the GPS link above.
